Jamie's Lyme Treatment PDF Print E-mail

Jamie's treatment program will entail 3 to 4 months of pretreatment in preparation for the IV antibiotic treatment protocol.  The pretreatment involves many supplements, a physical move to a more healing and less stressful environment, and about 4 different medications that will calm her highly activated nervous system and will allow her to sleep better at night.  This will allow her body to come to some sort of steady-state baseline so that IV antibiotics can be started.  She will also go on a special diet since she has developed significant food allergies.

The IV antibiotic protocol will be approximately 3 to 4 months in duration and will continue until satisfactory reversal of symptoms has occurred.  Then she will be switched over to an oral antibiotic and herbal protocol.  During this period, she will likely experience an worsening of symptoms as the bacteria are killed.  She will also need to maintain immune balance through detoxification, pre/probiotics, supplements, graded exercise and stress reducing activities such as Qigong.  The road will not be easy, but there is much hope.  Many have recovered using this protocol.

The main costs are incurred with IV antibiotics and the placement of the PICC line.  However, supplements, probiotics, and a severly restricted diet all add significantly to the cost of her care.
